Welcome to LGK Delivery, a logistics and delivery mobile application ("we," "our," or "us"). LGK Delivery connects customers who want to send packages with verified riders who can pick up and deliver items across Benin City and surrounding areas.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the LGK Delivery mobile application ("App") or any associated services. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

When you create an LGK Delivery account — whether as a customer or a rider — we collect:

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the LGK Delivery service. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial account credentials, passwords to other services, or biometric data beyond the identification photographs required for rider verification.

We use the information we collect solely to operate, improve, and secure the LGK Delivery service. Specifically, we use your data to:

  • Match customers with available verified riders for delivery requests
  • Process and fulfil delivery orders from pickup to drop-off
  • Calculate delivery fees and process payments
  • Disburse earnings and payouts to rider bank accounts
  • Enable in-app communication between customers and riders
  • Send real-time push notifications about order status, rider arrival, and delivery confirmation

Safety & Verification

  • Verify rider identity and screen applicants before approval
  • Investigate disputes, complaints, or reports of misconduct
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access

Service Improvement

  • Analyse aggregated usage data to improve app performance and user experience
  • Debug technical issues using crash reports and diagnostic logs
  • Develop new features and optimize delivery routing algorithms

Legal & Compliance

  • Comply with applicable Nigerian laws and regulations
  • Respond to lawful requests from government or regulatory authorities

We Do Not Sell Your Data. LGK Delivery does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purpose. Your data is used only to provide and improve the LGK Delivery service.

Location Data

Location data is central to how LGK Delivery operates. We handle it with strict controls to ensure it is used only where necessary and for no other purpose.

What Location Data We Collect

  • Riders: We collect real-time GPS location from a rider's device exclusively during an active, accepted delivery. Location tracking begins when a rider accepts a delivery request and ends automatically when the delivery is marked as complete.
  • Customers: We collect location data only when you actively use the address-input feature to set a pickup or drop-off point. We do not track customers' background location at any time.

How Location Data Is Used

  • To display the rider's real-time position on the customer's tracking map
  • To calculate estimated time of arrival (ETA) for deliveries
  • To verify pickup and delivery completion at the correct addresses
  • To optimize routing using Google Maps integration

No Background Tracking: LGK Delivery does not collect rider or customer location data when the app is closed or when there is no active delivery in progress. Location access is granted by you and can be revoked at any time through your device's app permissions settings, though this may affect delivery functionality.

Location Data Retention

Location data captured during a delivery is retained for a limited period for dispute resolution and safety purposes, after which it is deleted from active records. Aggregated and anonymized route data may be retained longer for service improvement purposes.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

Between App Users

When a delivery is matched, limited information is shared between the customer and assigned rider to facilitate the delivery. This includes the rider's first name, vehicle plate number, and in-app location — and the customer's delivery address and first name. Phone numbers are shared only through the in-app calling/messaging feature and are not disclosed directly.

Service Providers & Technology Partners

We share data with carefully selected technology providers who help us operate the App. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide their services to us. Our key service providers include Firebase (Google), and Google Maps. See Section 7 for full details.

Legal & Safety Disclosures

  • To comply with a legal obligation, court order, or government request under Nigerian law
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of Logistik Tech, its users, or the public
  • In connection with an investigation of fraud, security breach, or illegal activity

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, your personal data may be transferred to the successor entity. We will notify you via email or prominent in-app notice before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Data Security

Protecting your personal information is a core responsibility we take seriously. We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures, including:

  • Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between the LGK Delivery App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols, preventing interception by third parties.
  • Firebase Security Rules: Access to Cloud Firestore database records is governed by strict Firebase Security Rules ensuring users can only access data they are authorised to view.
  • Authentication security: User accounts are protected via Firebase Authentication, which supports secure login methods and protects against unauthorized access.
  • Access controls: Internal access to user data is limited to authorised Logistik Tech personnel on a need-to-know basis, with access logs maintained for accountability.
  • Secure file storage: Sensitive documents such as ID photographs and passport images are stored in secured cloud storage with access restricted to the verification workflow.
  • Regular security reviews: We conduct periodic reviews of our security practices, infrastructure, and code to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

Account deletion requests will result in the removal of your profile and personal data from active systems within 90 days. Some information may be retained in anonymized form or as required by law (e.g., transaction records for financial compliance).

Children's Privacy

The LGK Delivery application is intended for individuals who are 13 years of age or older. The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will promptly investigate and delete any such information from our systems.

For rider registration, all applicants must be 18 years of age or older as required for motorcycle operation and financial account ownership in Nigeria. We use date of birth collection and ID verification to enforce this requirement.

If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will delete that account and all associated data without delay. We encourage parents to monitor their children's app usage and contact us with any concerns.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will:

  • Update the Effective Date at the top of this policy
  • Notify registered users via an in-app notification or email for material changes
  • For significant changes affecting your rights, provide at least 14 days' notice before the new policy takes effect

Your continued use of the LGK Delivery App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with a revised policy, you may close your account and discontinue use of the App.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. The most current version will always be available within the App and on our website.
